Material Transformations | Emma Bingham, Svenja Kratz + Sarah Stubbs

Material Transformations draws together the work of three practitioners: Emma Bingham, Svenja Kratz and Sarah StubbsThe artists explore through the act of making how the body holds and sheds material memories. They explore in content and approach how physical and material matter can highlight and accumulate physical and emotional residues, traces and deeply personal utterances.

They ask what is transformation and how does it speak to our physical and emotional body. How does it relate to paper, clay, thread, cell and surface? How can the unsaid be captured through the act of transformation?

to be both safe and free | Tom Campbell
Kamberri/Canberra-based artist and writer Tom Campbell presents to be both free and safe, a solo exhibition exploring material and queer histories of craft.

This exhibition continues Tom’s exploration of the reconfigurable nature of textiles and craft, showcasing how these mediums can transform and narrate material histories. Through these pieces, to be both free and safe reveals the fluid potential of craft to convey both personal and collective narratives.
