About the Maker: Luke Batten

Luke Batten is an Australian Craftsman based in Ngunnawal country.
Luke is a graduate of the University of Canberra (Bachelor of Industrial Design), a graduate of the Australian National University (Master of Furniture Design) and has studied fine woodworking at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, in Maine, U.S.A. (9-month Program).

Luke’s creative process unifies design with making, emphasising material, production design, and user experience. He is driven by a passion for craftsmanship, authentic design, and sustainability.

His work has been widely recognised through exhibitions, competitions, media and awards.
