My Maternal Ambivalence - Clock

Isobel Waters is a South Australian artist and maker currently who has just graduated from a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the Australian National University.

Working across glass, ceramics and mixed-media assemblage, Isobel’s art practice centres around the human body as a means through which she can experience, analyse, and attempt to understand the world. Described as feminist artwork, Isobel’s pieces often discuss the female lived experience including physical objectification, reproductive rights, and gender in healthcare. Isobel creates subversive compositions in conjunction with traditional fabrication techniques to draw attention to society’s failings and suggest alternative outcomes.
