Craft + Design Canberra is recognised as a leading centre in contemporary Australian craft and design, with a vision to embed contemporary craft, making and design at the centre of everyday life in Canberra, a global city of design.
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for managing, delivering and evaluating a range of marketing initiatives for diverse audiences. Working with the Deputy Director, the Marketing Coordinator will develop and produce high-quality digital content that responds to Craft + Design Canberra’s strategic goals. This position plays a key role in building visibility for the organisation and our artist members, as well as creating enduring digital content inspired by our craftspeople, designers and programs.
The Marketing Coordinator will manage social media and websites, develop engaging campaigns and contribute to Craft + Design Canberra’s digital and physical marketing efforts. This hands-on role also includes marketing for our exhibitions, events and the biennial Craft + Design Canberra Festival.
Selection Criteria — Essential
The successful applicant will have:
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a small team and build positive relationships with staff, board, members, artists, sponsors and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in developing innovative marketing and promotional materials, including:
- Strategic use of social media algorithms and tools to maximise reach and engagement.
- Producing digital content, including audio-visual materials, with a sound technical competency in software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- High-level written communication skills, with a proven ability to craft marketing copy for diverse audiences.
- Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload, multitask and work independently.
- Capacity and commitment to work evenings and weekends, particularly for programs, exhibition openings and the Craft + Design Canberra Festival.
- Openness to performance feedback and a commitment to continuous improvement.
