Meet the Maker: Born and raised in Canberra, Jeremy Brown is an emerging local designer/maker of furniture and objects.
Completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts with first class Honours at the Australian National University in 2017, Jeremy has also received and been nominated for numerous local and national awards relating to his design practice. Jeremy's practice is interdisciplinary but consists predominantly of timber and fabric upholstery. His work ranges from speculative pieces of critical design, to small batch production items.

Portrait Gallery Tray
Regular price $400.00 Save $-400.00Each tray is made in Canberra with hand cut parquetry & marquetry. The design is based on the National Portrait Gallery.
Material: Blackbutt & Dyed Veneer (please note coloured veneer may vary slightly in tone/grain texture to image)
Limited Edition of 3
Care Instructions: it is recommended that the tray is kept out of direct sunlight to preserve the colour and structure of the timber. If cleaning is required, please use a lukewarm damp cloth which has been well wrung out, and leave tray in open to dry. The tray has been coated with Osmo Oil which is made from natural ingredients and can be purchased from Thor's Hammer if required.

About the Maker: Chelsea Lemon is a Canberra based designer and maker who works predominately with timber. Lemon aims to create visual, physical, and emotional connections between the user and her work. Many of her pieces include foliage and plant themes, mixed with interactivity and decorative woodworking technique 'parquetry'.

Field serving tray by Helen Kontouris

Field is a tiered serving tray with rotating timber plains. Designed by Australian design-icon Helen Kontouris, the tray was inspired by the 10,000-year-old history of agriculture carved into cultivated landscapes. From an aerial view, the natural timber grains represent the stratum forms of landscape terrains. The purposeful rotating timber tiers invite a tradition of food sharing, and bringing people together. Field is Australian-made using a combination of hand turned and machined manufacturing and is oiled and assembled in Queensland. All selected timbers are FSC certified. Tiers can be dissembled for easy storage.

About the Maker: Helen Kontouris is an iconic Australia designer with extensive experience in some of the largest design power houses; Alessi, DePadova, Ritzenhof, Schiavello, Space and Stylecraft. Established in 2001, Helen Kontouris Design is driven by discovery and creating opportunities to uncover innovative responses against "throwawayism". About the Maker: Estelle Briedis is an emerging Canberra based surface designer and screen printer who specialises in creating original pattern designs, exploring ideas of architectural geometry, the mathematical process of tessellation and the aesthetics of symmetry. Estelle graduated from the Australian National University School of Art and Design in 2015, with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Design Arts, exhibits her works nationally and is stocked in several stores Australia wide.
