Sean Booth
Sean Booth grew up in the fast paced city of Sydney, but later moved to Canberra to commence study, where he began his career as a metalsmith. In 2002 Sean completed his undergraduate studies at The Australian National University School of Art in the Gold and Silversmithing workshop, and has recently established a workshop in the Canberra region.
His practice consists of two main threads of investigation. One thread focuses on the more traditional use of silver and hammer work within a contemporary context, and the other challenges geometry and the structures that can be built with a sense of fluidness. His work encompasses many varied forms such as sculptural works, lights and limited edition series.
