An Australian design classic, Robert Foster’s water jug is F!NK’s signature piece and one the most recognisable objects to come out of Canberra. The coloured anodised aluminium F!NK jug fits perfectly into any household or boardroom and is a must for design collectors.

Meet the Maker: F!nk + Co. is a much loved and respected Australian design company with an international reputation for producing world-class tableware, hollowware, jewellery and lighting. It was established by Robert Foster in 1993 with the aim of creating a design and manufacturing business to support and generate opportunities for Australian designer-makers.  

F!NK challenges the notions that functional is boring, and that useful and visually exciting are mutually exclusive.  Simultaneously supremely functional and totally elegant, no two F!NK pieces are exactly the same. Each article is created in small batches of 20 to 100 units and individually hand-finished in the Queanbeyan studio/workshop.  

When commissioned to create a jug by a prominent Canberra restaurant in the 1990s, Robert took aluminium tubing, an everyday sustainable material, and fashioned it into a sleek economically viable product. The Water Jug was the first F!NK product and is still the mainstay of the company. It is a striking practical object and encapsulates the qualities of F!NK + Co.: distinctive design, function and technical innovation.

Her works are gentle reflections of the organic environments around us, demonstrated through botanical forms, floral motifs and other imagery borrowed from nature. From her Sydney studio, she crafts intimate pieces that explore the physical world around her.

Lo has a meditative practice which draws ideas from the Buddhist theories of Zen. Reflective of this, her works search for strength and inner peace. This is reflected through their delicate designs and the intricate details that are a product meditative handcrafting.

Lo predominately works in gold, silver and enamel using lost wax casting and traditional silversmithing techniques. Each line, shape or form that Lo makes is a physical testament to the conceptual ideas that she invests herself in. Wearers of her jewellery are to feel the peace that Lo has found through the healing process of making.

The Macro Cosmos Balance Necklace aims to delve into our relationship with the Earth around us and the unknowable forces that orbit beyond us. Made from recycled sterling silver milled in Australia it also houses a glowing pink round rhodalite garnet, a purple and blue toned circular iolite and a dark navy sapphire square stone.

Meet the Maker: Jo Victoria is a Canberra based ceramic artist with a love of the ocean. Her works are inspired by cultural and natural landscapes and ocean shores. She mixes organic materials with porcelain slips to create delicate, translucent, often haunting works that speak of deep time and the precariousness of life on earth.

Jo completed her Master of Visual Arts degree at the ANU School of Art in 2016 and has exhibited in group and solo shows in the ACT and region, the South Coast and in Denmark.

Kirstie Rea is an internationally celebrated Canberra-based glass maker.

Her signature glass blankets symbolise care, but also fragility.
