I undertook the journaling challenge this year to try and reinvigorate my art practice and look after my wellbeing while I was on maternity leave. I enjoyed the challenge of reading a prompt word in the morning and brainstorming different ways to respond. Some of the days I’m most proud of were the prompts that stumped me the most to begin with as these really pushed me creatively, including wrinkle, sparkle, prototype, and dove tail.

I experimented with a range of mediums throughout the challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone and embrace the process rather than the outcome. I particularly enjoyed bringing the 2D page to life by creating some short stop-frame animations through a process of drawing, erasing, and photographing, inspired by the work of William Kentridge.

I dabble in illustration, media art and photography and particularly love experimenting with combining digital and analogue processes.
I studied visual arts at the College of Fine Art in Sydney and was lucky enough to go on exchange to the Bauhaus University in Germany to study media design during that time.
