The artist welcomes visitors into her light-filled home and working studio, where the domestic setting itself becomes part of the artistic experience. Her practice explores nature-inspired art designed specifically for the home, using a range of media including textiles, photography, paintings, prints and digital technologies.
This year she has been continuing to experiment with using photographic documentation from bush-walking in Tasmania, in her art work. In February, Lelde walked into The Walls of Jerusalem in Tasmania and camped there for several nights with friends.

She is hoping to have new textile design(s) from this excursion to show at the November Open Studio event. Throughout the Open Studio, Lelde enjoys sharing the stories and processes behind her work, offering insight into both the conceptual and technical aspects including the more intricate digital methods she sometimes employs. Most artworks on display will be available for purchase at accessible prices. A selection of artist card packs will also be sold specifically to raise funds in support of humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
