Allison Barnes is a Canberra based mixed media artist. She is interested in the fragility of our environment, including the built environment, and our structural relationship with it.  She explores these themes by combining and juxtaposing found and sourced materials in painting, print, drawing and sculpture.

Allison graduated from the Australian National University School of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Visual Arts with Honours in 2021.  In 2023 Allison received the Capital Arts Patrons Organisation Boris Property Emerging Artist Award and in 2024 held a solo exhibition, A Sense of Fragility, at the Canberra Contemporary’s Platform space in Manuka.  In 2025 her work - Anticipated Memory - was selected as a finalist in the Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing.
