Greg has exhibited widely in Australia in both solo and group exhibitions since 1980. He has taught and run workshops in the US, Japan, Singapore, Canada and Europe. He has been a demonstrator at international ceramic events in Ireland, Denmark, USA, Canada, France and Sydney.
In 2008 he undertook a 3 month McKnight Ceramic Artist Residency at the Northern Clay Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA and subsequently was in the McKnight exhibition in 2009 at NCC. Greg established Hovea Pottery, Perth, WA, in 1980 after graduating from WAIT (Curtin University) with qualifications in Architecture and Design (Ceramics). In 1985 he began a career Lecturing in Ceramics with TAFE and ran the ceramic workshop at Carine - TAFE until 2002. In 2010 he left TAFE and has taught pottery at Art Centre and Hovea Pottery.
Between 2016 - 2019 he lived in Sydney and during that time taught pottery with TAFE NSW, the City of Sydney and privately. He also had a solo exhibition at the Mansfield Gallery, Darlinghurst, Sydney in 2017.
He helped found and participates in the Mundaring Hills Open Studio (MHOS) each year. His work is available through galleries and craft centres in WA, SA and NSW.
Greg has always worked in stoneware, mostly thrown on the pottery wheel. His work is fired in a number of kilns, wood fired and gas. He makes a wide range of thrown pots from functional (mugs, bowls, casseroles, dishes etc) to more expressive vessels exploring form and surface texture.
