Laura Pascoe is a Meanjin (Brisbane)-based ceramic artist, interior designer, and art curator with a background in architecture. She blends creativity with community, using her expertise in interior design, art selection, and ceramics to foster collaboration and authenticity through her work and the gallery she co-founded, Vacant Assembly.

Laura Pascoe, originally trained as an architect, turned to ceramics as a way to escape the structure, conservatism, and rigidity of her profession. She found solace in the freedom, risk, and experimentation that ceramics offered. The forms, colours, and textures in Laura’s work are deeply inspired by nature, with the decoration often emerging spontaneously and organically. Her pieces are abstract in nature, rather than direct representations, and seek to evoke the endless variation in scale, pattern, and texture that nature offers. Through her work, Laura hopes to inspire personal connections in viewers, inviting them to interpret and discover their own treasured facets of the natural world.
