Cooke works in thrown forms in many shapes. Currently exploring the technique of carving the surface with file decoration or broad spiral patterns. Some works combine the carving with impressing and multicolour inlay decoration. Some works are glazed in various celadon style glazes and some shino type glazes the work is then wood fired to enhance the form and decoration with flame flashing and soft effect of the ash from the firing bring out the subtle patterns and colour changes in the clay surface.
