"I was born in Brazil and my artist career started when I was 16 years old. Since the early days I have thrived in taking the arts out of its usual gallery context to local communities and other professional areas. That opened opportunities for other artists, other professionals and communities to experience arts and craft. I have a Master of Design, University of South Australia. My thesis focused on the evaluation of the arts in the design of healthcare facilities. In 1992 together with my partner Malcolm Cooke we established The Art Shed in Tharwa, ACT. We have a large studio and small gallery where our work can be seen. I presented my work in numerous international fora and in 2006 I was honored with Australia Council’s Ros Bower Award. Living and working by the Murrumbidgee River, my recent work focusses on water and what it means to our lives."
