Marina Civiero

Maker Member

Having always had a fascination with textiles and the hand made, Marina Civiero’s jewellery practice combines contemporary expression with care and precision, to create quality jewellery the wearer will treasure.
Leaning into the minimal with occasional forays to the ornamental, Marina is inspired by fabrics, print design, nature and the Art Deco era. She particularly enjoys replicating textile processes and techniques, pulling and looping silver wire into the patterns seen in macrame and knitting, stitching into her pieces with silk and embossing with the texture of lace. This textile play is a connection and reminder of her childhood, of her mother hand and machine knitting, sewing, and stitching.
Using predominantly precious materials and traditional metalwork techniques, Marina works from her home-based studio, on Gadigal land in Sydney’s Inner West.
