Nichola Leeming is a Canberra based studio potter working mainly in wheel thrown porcelain. Her colourful images are not painted. She cuts into the piece, incising, inlaying and inserting coloured porcelain. Unglazed exteriors are hand polished multiple times giving the vessels a luxurious feel.
She draws images from Australian wildlife and birdlife in particular, hoping to capture a unique Australian essence and humour.
