Radka Passianova is a Sydney-based jewellery and object designer/maker, originally from the Czech Republic. She studied Contemporary Jewellery & Object Design at TAFE NSW Design Centre Enmore, where she has taught since graduating in 2008, mentoring emerging makers with a strong focus on technical excellence, material understanding, and conceptual rigour. In 2013, she completed a Master of Design at University of Technology Sydney, deepening her engagement with contemporary practice.

Radka has exhibited nationally and internationally, contributing to the field of contemporary jewellery and object through both her studio work and educational practice.

In November 2023, she founded The Metal Space, a silversmithing and jewellery-making studio located in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. The studio reflects her commitment to community building, skills development, and creating a supportive environment for both emerging and established practitioners.

Her work is informed by environmental concerns, lived experience, and observations gathered through travel. Her practice responds to natural landscapes as well as cultural experiences encountered along the way. 

She embraces challenges of scale, material, and technique, moving fluidly between intimate wearable objects and larger sculptural forms.

At the core of Radka’s practice is a deep respect for the hand-making process. Through traditional silversmithing and metalworking techniques, she engages in a reflective exploration of form, surface, and material behaviour. Experimentation and careful attention to detail guide the development of each piece, allowing the material itself to inform the final outcome.

Her work often balances refined, minimal forms with organic irregularities, creating objects that hold both precision and spontaneity. The resulting pieces carry a sense of balance, subtle tension, and a quiet, contemplative presence.
