Robyn Campbell works in both glass and ceramics. In 1993 she completed her Bachelor of Arts (visual) majoring in Glass at the Australian National University. Until 2000 Robyn focused on her studio work, exhibited nationally and internationally, travelled to the USA for a fellowship and to promote her work and completed several local public art commissions. In 2013 she returned to her practice through ceramics and is now beginning to use both glass and clay in her sculptural work.

Robyn is interested in form and the spaces and relationships between forms. Her years working in glass saw the evolution of work which was pared down, organic, tactile and sensual, these qualities continue to be central in her practice.

She appreciates the immediacy of clay and its visual density, contrasting the transparent and light capturing quality of glass. Robyn aims to achieve a stillness in her textured, solid, curvaceous forms. Her carefully considered surfaces and textures are created to deliberately entice touch.
