"My work reflects my ongoing interest in the colours and forms of exotic and indigenous flora and how we display them. I work with mid-fired clay and porcelain, coloured slips and underglazes to achieve maximum saturation of colour in the painted patterns on my hand formed vessels.
I am driven by a compulsion to make and, the intense joy of the material engagement with clay as I take inspiration from the seasonal changes in my garden. Many of my vessels show the marks made by my hands in their construction and are permanent records of this joy. I love colour and create my works in the hope they bring pleasure to others who use them in their everyday lives."
