Craft + Design Canberra is a not-for-profit organisation that celebrates and cultivates our artists (craftspeople + designers) and our community. Craft + Design Canberra advocates for contemporary craft and design practice in the Canberra region and connects artists, community, partners and places.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the delivery of the Craft + Design Canberra programs. The Program Coordinator will engage closely with the ideas and practice of craft artists and designers to put their work in a broader context for the community.

Selection Criteria — Essential

The successful applicant will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work as a productive contributor in a small team and establish positive working relationships with staff, board, Craft + Design Canberra members, artists, sponsors, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level experience managing all aspects of art and craft public programs, events and public art.
  • Organisational, project management and budgeting skills including the ability to be able to manage and prioritise a high-volume workload, including multitasking, self-direction, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to motivate staff, work as a productive contributor in a small team and with external stakeholders.
  • High level written communication skills with demonstrated experience preparing marketing copy, reports, presentations, grant applications, budgets and acquittals.
  • High level digital literacy and graphic design skills with the ability to use imaging, video and editing software (Including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva etc) 
  • Experience working in a flexible arts-related environment and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated capability to be flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances.
  • Demonstrated openness to accept performance feedback and willingness to commit to continuous improvement.
