WHAT IS GIVE + GROW?

As part of AusArt Day hosted by Creative Australia, Craft + Design Canberra will be running GIVE + GROW on Thursday 23 October 2025 with the aim of raising money for the 2026 Craft + Design Canberra Daily Creative Challenge.

On Thursday 23 October 2025, we will be sharing the stories of our finalists from the 2025 Challenge online, and inviting participants and makers to share and donate.

WHAT IS THE GOAL?

This year, Craft + Design Canberra is hoping to raise over $5,000. This money will go straight into the prize pool for artists participating in the 2026 Craft + Design Canberra Daily Creative Challenge.

In 2025, the challenge doubled in size. We had over 400 registrations across six countries which resulted in 70 entries for the prize. Participation is free, and each day through July participants receive a word prompt to respond to in their own way. 

At Craft + Design Canberra we believe that making is a way of being. Engaging in daily creative practices allows us to reconnect with our creativity, materials, bodies, minds and each other. This is best experienced through, and is the core reason as to why each year we run the Daily Creative Challenge each. Read more about the benefits of daily creative practice from our CEO Jodie Cunningham here.

This Challenge will enter its fifth year in 2026, and your donation will encourage more entries and participation through the raising of prize funds, creating a ripple effect of promoting wellbeing and the benefits of a daily creative practice to hundreds worldwide.

 

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?

Donations will go straight back to artists via the prize money awarded for the winners of the Challenge.

This year, there was a $5,000 Cash First Prize, a $2,500 Cash Second Prize and a $1,000 Cash Emerging Craftsperson Prize.

Your donation can help us add funds to these cash prizes, and will hopefully allow us to add additional prize categories in 2026, ensuring more artists are rewarded for their incredible entries.
