Are you curious about life drawing? Been sketching for years and feel like a fun night out with friends over a few drinks? Well, we think Tipsy Sketching is for you!

Led by an experienced life model, you will be provided with some basic guidance, pencils and paper. Bring an open mind as a range of models take to the floor, striking creative and unexpected poses that will test your observation skills and keep the room laughing.

What you'll be doing:

Find your spot in the Craft + Design Canberra Gallery
Get a drink from the Craft + Design Canberra bar
Start with some short poses to warm up
Get into the flow with long poses
Share your work at the end of the night, and see what everyone has created

What you'll need to bring:

Any additional materials you'd like to use to draw

About Tipsy Sketching

The Tipsy Sketching Club was founded by Loz, an experienced life model. It was during a life drawing art class one night, that she was standing there, butt naked, not daring to flinch and she thought - ‘I really wish there was a space in Canberra that people of all artistic abilities could experience this while drinking some wine’. When Loz went home, she cracked a bottle…. and The Tipsy Sketching Club was born. Learn more about Tipsy Sketching.

Accessibility at the venue:

We aim to make our programs accessible to everyone. We welcome people of all abilities, ages, backgrounds and identities.
Craft + Design Canberra is accessible via a lift at the building entrance with step free access through the exhibition and workshop spaces.
Seating is available at all events and workshops.
An accessible all gender bathroom is available via a heavy fire door.
Assistance animals are welcome throughout the venue.
Free tickets are available for Companion Card holders. You will have the option to add a companion ticket at checkout.
Please note that our retail currently restricted and does not provide a full 1500mm x 1500mm turning circle.

Craft + Design Canberra is a not-for-profit membership-based organisation supporting artists, craft practitioners, designers and makers at every stage of their careers. Craft + Design Canberra workshops are designed to create opportunities for our members to showcase their skills, engage with community, and earn incomes.

Cancellation Policy

15 days prior: Customers are entitled to a full refund on request.
Less than 14 days: Customers are not entitled to a refund. Customers are entitled to a ticket transfer to a friend or family member.
