Marcel Hoogstad Hay
Marcel Hoogstad Hay is an Australian emerging glass working primarily with blown glass. He received his Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2012 from the Glass Workshop at the ANU School of Art in Canberra and in 2014 completed the two-year Associate Training Program at Jam Factory Contemporary Craft and Design in Adelaide.
Marcel draws from traditional Venetian cane techniques in a lot of his work, exploring and creating complex patterns in glass. He is influenced largely by optical art and astronomical phenomena. Utilising bright, contrasting colours and complex line-work he aims to create subtle optical effects and visual shifts.
