The Craft and Design 2024 Creative Journalling Challenge has been a fantastic event to participate in and I recommend it to all. Not knowing quite what to expect I went in a little apprehensive especially seeing the level of work. Digging deep I started with trying to work with a recycled old diary, and trying my hand at other mediums.

I floundered for days and then thought go back to what you know. Textiles, sewing and smaller format. I would wake with anticipation for the word of the day and so found I had to work with the first thought that came to mind. Some days I had endless hours and there were other days I was time poor. I learnt new words along the way and my interpretation of how that word resonated with me.

Letting go of preconceived its not good enough to this is what and how I love to express myself and thoughts. Making do with what I had at hand and has inspired me to dig deeper and in some cases I have redone or played around with some of the earlier words. They all sit happily in the second last word Day 30 Housing, which has created a "home" for this collection of words.
