Catherine Large

Catherine Large is a jewellery and object designer, based in QLD. Her research encompasses the nature and relevance of contemporary jewellery and small objects, including reuse and ideas around managing material culture. She is interested in the use of vitreous enamel in both jewellery and the domestic object.

"I make objects to be worn and used, and for the new owner to enjoy. The handmade element of the work is very important to me, and working at the bench is a contemplative, thought-provoking exercise - handling the material and the tools to form the work connects me to a long history of the handmade."
