The three goals I set myself for this challenge:
✔️ Create an A4 artwork in gouache every day, it can be quick, loose, and expressive
✔️ Experiment! Explore new ideas, subjects and approaches
✔️ Share everything you paint (even if you don’t love it)
Each day I woke up, read the prompt and thought to myself “how the hell do I paint this”… I typically depict flowers, ducks and veggie gardens, so words like CYBORG, WAX, ARTIFICE and WEAKNESS really pushed me into new creative territory.

I found myself dipping my toes into abstraction, surrealism and fantasy, and felt my practice becoming more flexible as the days rolled by. The reality is you cannot make your best work every single day, it’s about showing up and finding joy in the process. Through this daily act of making, my sense of wellbeing grew and those emotional changes redefined what a journal means to me.

Thank you to the team at Craft + Design Canberra for hosting this inspiring creative marathon!
