Wonderful experience, the 2024 Design Challenge did indeed challenge me on many levels. I set out to create a small block per day based on the word prompt.

I restricted the block size to a 10cm square and printed on cotton fabric no larger than approx 30x30cm. I was aiming overall for a finished body of work to hold together, through the charm and nature of the repeating block, with unity, to become almost one work, even with the disparate content provided by the daily prompt. I’m intending to produce a large textile work with all prices combined to enhance unified themes.

It was challenging converting themes and concepts to a simple motif each day but a very good discipline to engage in and has provided me lots to work on. I’m grateful for the opportunity thank you!
