Liv Kidston, is a recent graduate of the Australian National University (ANU) with a Bachelor of Visual Arts, earning the Emerging Contemporaries Award upon graduation. Born and raised in rural New South Wales, Liv’s early life instilled in her a deep appreciation for the land and its complex histories. This connection forms the foundation of her practice, which explores themes of generational knowledge, memory, and identity, often interrogating the interplay between craft traditions and contemporary art. Working primarily in textiles and sculpture, Liv’s art is a labour-intensive process of material transformation. Her ability to navigate deeply personal and universal themes positions her as a compelling voice in contemporary Australian art.
