Craft ACT Gallery and Shop Callout: Internships available, apply now
We are launching an annual short-term internship program!
Come, intern with us and support Canberra’s thriving design and craft community.
Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre is recognised as a leading centre in contemporary Australian craft and design, with a vision to strengthen the dynamic link between the arts – as encompassed in the craft sector – and the broad creative industries and design sector.
We are seeking motivated students, recent graduates and practicing artists who would like to gain experience in a gallery environment. Internships are available year-round, each for a period of around 6 weeks to coincide with our award-winning exhibition program. Flexible arrangements to accommodate study or work commitments will be negotiated with the successful applicants.
This is a valuable opportunity to learn about exhibition installation processes, art handling, artist liaison, administration, marketing, customer service and being part of a team. You can also develop strong relations within the craft and design sector and stay connected to the arts community.
Successful candidates will intern for a period of 6-7 weeks (1 exhibition block). Ideally, interns would work at Craft ACT for a minimum of 1 half day each week and a maximum of 2 days each week.
