ARTIST TALK | Cam Michael on My unStill Life

12:30pm – 1:30pm | Thursday 20 March | Craft + Design Canberra

Join us at Craft + Design Canberra for an artist talk with Cam Michael, as he delves into the themes and creative process behind his exhibition My unStill Life.

Through a series of intricately crafted miniature rooms, Cam reimagines domestic spaces, exploring how memory, fatigue, and imagination shape our perception of the everyday. Drawing on his experiences with disability, caring, and LGBTIQ+ identity, his work reflects the fluid boundaries between home, studio, and self.

In this talk, Cam will discuss his inspirations, including the influence of New Zealand artist Sylvia Siddell, and the materiality of his practice—spanning cast and etched glass, textiles, wood, and found objects. Discover how his sculptures transform the familiar into something shifting and unsettled, challenging traditional notions of still life and domestic space.

Free event. RSVP HERE.
