Material: Raw silk fabric , hand painted with Natural dyes (Fustic, Eucalyptus, Black Walnut, Madder, Cutch, Myrobalan and Rust). Hand embroidered with DMC threads. Stretched on canvas and in a wooden frame.

About the Maker: Pinal Maniar works with printing, weaving, dyeing, quilting and traditional textile techniques to speak to the environment in which they were made. Maniar’s use of natural dyes, colour and form challenges conventional perceptions of design, encouraging the viewer to reconsider our relationship with the urban landscape. Maniar employs the labour-intensive process of hand stitched embroidery and textiles much like painting – allowing lines to naturally take shape, and each stitch to come together and create a canvas filled with movement and texture.
