These unique '12' Oyster Plate is ideal for serving Australia's favourite shellfish delicacy. It holds 12 oysters and has a central mussel shaped contour for lemon or dipping sauce.
Made from high quality porcelain, the plate is lightweight, stackable and easily cleaned in the dishwasher. Weighing less than one kilogram, it is ideal as a gift for visitors to Australia.
Freshly shucked and left in their shells, grilled (Kilpatrick) or marinated oysters are all possible with this cleverly crafted form. The recessed shapes are also large enough to contain ice or rock salt depending on your serving requirements.

About the Maker: Christopher Plumridge's work references river stones and the stars, where systems of structural decay like erosion, warping and speeding movement create distortion. This essence shapes his functional work practically with technique reflecting innovative change. His surfaces are inspired by the colours and textures of the Australian landscape which are captured in his original formula mineral glazes. His pieces are electric oxidation firing to 1280 deg C.
Chris uses porcelain and stoneware clay to produce his pieces. Some of his clay bodies are self prepared where he combines the raw clays and minerals as well as using commercially produced bodies.
Chris has shown his work at Craft Victoria and Craft ACT and in numerous exhibitions. His work has been credited in VOGUE, Belle and INSIDE OUT magazines
