Meet the Maker:
Philip Agius is a Canberra-born, Queanbeyan-based contemporary artist whose practice explores themes of contemporary masculinity and transformation. Philip has a foundation in jewellery design, honed while working with prominent fashion designers during his time living in London in the early 2000s. His work has been exhibited internationally, including the British Council's "Personal Space" show, and he has worked for prominent designers such as Lara Bohinc of Bohinc Studio. Philip's wearable work is characterised by repeated teardrop forms – that evoke themes of change and renewal. Philip's creative trajectory has been marked by a series of transformations. Taking a break from making he worked as a Landscape Architect and now has returned to making having recently completed a Master of Contemporary Practice in Art and Design at the Australian National University.
