Meet the Maker:
Isabel Chen is an early emerging ceramic artist who is endlessly fascinated by the possibilities of clay, local materials and the utility of functional ware, enhanced by experimentation with glaze chemistry and atmospheric firings since 2022 at the Canberra Potter’s Society and more recently, with the Straithnairn Arts Association Wood-firing Group.
Isabel was recently awarded the Craft + Design Canberra National Emerging Contemporaries Award and The Curatoreum Professional Development Award in 2024.
