This series of functional glass bowls was designed during an artist residency at Canberra glassworks during 23-24. Made locally in small batches by the artist at Canberra Glassworks. I call these my 'Quilt bowls'. Using leftover smaller pieces of glass to create a piece of value like fabric scraps for a quilt. The various colour palettes are loosely inspired by Canberra’s distinct seasons. The bowls are food safe (but handwash only and not microwave safe), or lovely as a space to keep trinkets or display on their own.

About the Maker: Cam Michael is an emerging mixed media artist interested in social inclusion, working with themes of redefining value and potential, and relationships between personal identity and perception in the spaces we inhabit.
Cam’s work is broadly informed through his life experiences of disability, being a carer and support worker for others, living in Australia but growing up in New Zealand/Aotearoa, and identifying as LGBTI. His work often references the everyday as a space for all to connect.
