Every morning was a waking moment of anticipation, followed by a moment of dread, and the opening of the mind. Journaling called on discipline, wits, and household tolerance and it resulted in a rewarding habit of spontaneity or deliberation to get my musings and the things around me onto the page.
As it happens, journaling in this particular the month coincided with Canberra’s and Australia’s wettest November ever. By the end of our journaling, the rain had put a final full-stop on the drought and transforming the landscape, boosting the colours and life along the length of our rivers and triggering the crops for the coming season.
